Advanced Paramedic Ltd. (APL) is a designated provider for flight, ground, clinic, and industrial Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Alberta registered ACPs will provide patient care in the clinic setting.



  • Assess the extent of injuries or illness to determine medical treatment
  • Provide patient care in accordance to Alberta Health Services, Occupational Health and Safety and Alberta College of Paramedic standards
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as taking vital signs and testing glucose levels
  • Administer pre-hospital emergency care including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), oxygen, bandaging, splinting,assisting in child birth, and the treatment of trauma patients
  • Maintain airways with intubation and surgical airways
  • Use an external defibrillator and bag valve mask resuscitator
  • Provide manual cardiac defibrillation and external pacing
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as monitor vital signs and interpret lab values such as ABG’s, Lytes
  • Initiate, monitor, and maintain blood and blood product transfusions
  • Operate sophisticated equipment in advanced life-support ambulances, medevac aircraft or other advanced life supportenvironments
  • Administer medications for the treatment of medical conditions and management of acute pain
  • Initiate and maintain intraosseous infusions
  • Urinary catheterization
  • Monitor chest tubes
  • Use a spinal immobilization devices and traction splints
  • Transport patients to hospital or other medical facilities for further care
  • Participate in EMS training sessions to maintain active employee status
  • Transport patients via aircraft or ground as required
  • Additional duties as required


  • Class 4 drivers license
  • ACP practice permit
  • ACLS
  • ITLS
  • PALS
  • NRP
  • CPR

Upon hire, the candidate must provide a record of their current immunizations; acceptable driver’s abstract of the last three (3) years of driving history, a criminal record check with a Vulnerable Sector check along with ACP registration for the current year.
