NEMT

Much like Special Events, APL’s Non-Emergent Medical Transport program was started in Peace River during the 2015 Oil & Gas industry downturn.
This service was started as an effort to retain local staff and create an additional revenue opportunity. Since that time, we learned that although not a significant revenue generator, our Non-Emergent Medical Transport service had become an essential service. NEMT has become a service primarily for the vulnerable including special needs, elderly and people who simply need additional support getting to and from medical or other important appointments.
APL provides this professional transport service designed to improve the quality of life for senior citizens and those requiring wheel-chair accessible transportation. The Non-Emergent Medical Transport (NEMT) program provides much more than just transportation. It provides accessible, “through the door” service for various needs beyond just medical and dental appointments. We support the vulnerable for grocery shopping, banking, religious / social functions which also is our way of giving back to the community.

Our NEMT program supplies safe and affordable transportation service for all needs including:

  • Medical and dental appointments
  • Grocery shopping
  • Banking
  • Hairdressers
  • Religious or social activities

I very much appreciated the prompt and very kind pickup and drop off of my mom for her granddaughter’s grad.

Without you, my mom would not have been able to attend as she’s in a wheelchair and has a very hard time now getting in and out of a car.

[The driver] Stephanie from Grimshaw was absolutely wonderful!!

Thank you so much for this wonderful service. My family and I appreciate it very much! ❤️

“Susan was very helpful. She went above and beyond to help us. We enjoyed the trip. Excellent driver (we had icy streets). If I have to go again I hope Susan is available”
