Beginning March 29th CEO Stephen Woodburn and Operations Manager Tim Ljuden will make the roughly 4,700km trip from Grande Prairie to Mazatlan, Mexico, to donate a 2002 ambulance to a Mexican Fire Department.
Called “Highway To Mexico” this is a cooperative initiative that we are participating in with Rotary Peace River. In 2006, we supported the venture, and when Tri-Star Chrysler donated a wheel chair van that year, we helped by filling it with ambulance and safety supplies.
When the convoy of 10 vehicles leaves Grande Prairie it will make it’s way to Lethbridge (957Km) in the first day. It will take eight days to drive there and then six days to deliver all of the ambulances and fire trucks. There will be gifting ceremonies held all over Mazatlan. Afterwards, Stephen and Tim will be flying back.
