Special Events

Special events are important for any community to thrive.
They give community members the opportunity to bond and become unified. They give families the opportunity to spend quality time together and individuals the chance to take a break and have a little fun. With any gathering such as music festivals, rodeos, races, auctions, athletic competitions or even a wine festival there is the potential for a medical incident in which APL provides medical support services throughout Alberta, but primarily based out of Edmonton.

Regardless of whether there is a medical Center close enough, most special events are required to provide a specific level of medical standby service for the protection of everyone involved or attending the event. APL provides standby medical services to several special events throughout Alberta. APL was awarded a long-standing agreement with Century Mile Racetrack in 2019. Century Mile Racetrack is located at the Edmonton International Airport and offers a high performance one-mile racetrack with Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing year-round.

With any gathering there is the potential for a medical incident. Accidents do happen.

FC Edmonton has been using Advanced Paramedics for 3 years; we have been pleased with the service they provide. Head office is always quick to respond to inquiries and questions. Units and attendants are always on time and attentive. We appreciate the service and anticipate a long relationship with Advanced Paramedics.

North Peace MS Chapter holds an Annual Trail Ride Fundraiser in mid-June. The event is held at Tangent Park, and is host to roughly seventy-five riders and their horses. APL has attended our event for several years.

The Chapter approached APL to provide a medic vehicle and support person for the day of the event. The support person shows up at 11 for the kick-off of the ride and travels along to meet the group at predetermined checkpoints throughout the day. They then meet back at Tangent Park for the return of the riders. The support they offer provides peace-of-mind for the Chapter and participants throughout the event.

- Craig Anderson, North Peace Multiple Sclerosis Chapter President,

I have been using APL for all our events for the past two years. The whole process runs smoothly and is very organized. They are quick to respond when I am inquiring about a date. And the booking is painless. Their staff are also very knowledgeable and nice. We always enjoy working with APL and will continue to do so!

APL has provided services for our annual Pond Hockey Championships for many years. They are always promptly on site in the mornings and have provided a professional medical service for our event. From muscle sprains to limb breaks to minor cuts and scrapes, they have been there to provide a consistent quality of service for our visiting players who come to compete. Their staff are always very knowledgeable and easy to work with. We look forward to continuing our relationship with APL for many years to come.

- Dave Allan, President of the Alberta Pond Hockey Association.

The Harmon Valley Agricultural Society has worked with APL over the years. APL has provided exceptional service at our rodeos and past ATV rallies. They have always been prompt and professional. APL is a community minded company and has always been willing to donate some of their services. It has always been a pleasure to work with them. We are looking forward to working with them again this year and in the future.
